transmission problem??

Hi members,

I have a 1995, 325is BMW.

I noticed about 2 weeks ago my car starting to not go right
away when i would press on the gas. It then would jump
into gear and take off. When i come to a stop, it seems like
it wants to still go forward. I had to replace the catalyct
convertor about 10 months, but i replaced it with an
after-market one. I was thinking that had something to
do with my problem.

I spoke with a part-time mechanic, and he said it sounds
like my transmission is slipping. Does this sound familiar
to anyone?

Thanks for your assistance!!

The Cat has nothing to do with the tranny, so...you lost me there. Anyhow, when the car does not move right away, when you press the gas...do the rpms go up? Or does the car just not move period for a second.

Hrm....

You should change your transmission fluid and get it flushed. See if that helps. It sounds like you have a sticking valve in your transmission. A fluid change can help.

Poor Californians, they are always getting the short end of it, and now this?

Catalytic converter will not cause this at all. It is part of the exhaust system, not the transmission..

I agree with carolinus, check your fluid level, maybe change the transmission filter..
