how difficult is an alternator replacement on a 93 325is? are any special tools needed? any time saving tricks or anything that should be removed to aid in the replacement?

This should be relatively simple to do. make sure you disconnect the battery first..

You'll need to relieve tension on the belt by turning the belt tensioner, remove the belt, then find the alternator mounting points, loosen and remove, then disconnect the electrical connections on the back. Then re-connect the wires, mount it, and put the belt back on.

If you need any other help, feel free to email me...
