Iv never had this problem although I would suspect the switch to be at fault here...because the window works so the internals are probably fine..it seems to me that it is more of an electrical problem IE switch...but thats just an educated quess.

I just payed $75 bones to have the plastic inserts replaced. You may have one broken. I tried doing it myself but ran out of time. It was easier to pay to have it fixed.

Do not have the dealer do it. Have an independent that you have a relationship do it.

Is'nt the "one-touch" a function controlled by the switch?

The plastic inserts being broke wont cause this>>they are the clips that hold the window on the regulater>>and if you are replacing the motor>>should also replace the regulator b`cuz you have to drill the old regulator out to get behind it to get to the motor and most times the regulator gets slightly bent then it goes ~bad soon after

am actualy prety certain that it is a switch function because you can put a one-touch switch on the sunroof and it works just like the window....are you telling me that the sunroof motor is equiped with this one-touch function?

I think you'll need to pull the window regulator and motor to resolve this problem. The regulator could be binding (bad thrust bushing where motor engages regulator rack gear), or it could be a defective motor. However motor is only accessible after pulling the regulator. There is a good description of removing the regulator at www.understeer.com.

Once you have the regulator check the regulator thrust bushing and regulator action. You may need new plastic glides for the regulator also. Remove the motor and hook the motor and door panel to car to drive the motor. It should run smoothly for a number of rotations and stop in each direction. Not sure it's necessary but I tried to position the motor rotation consistent w/ regulator position when re-installing the motor. I was worried that if motor was at wrong position when installed, it might not "learn" where it needed to be. A new or used motor can be obtained, if yours is bad.

Good Luck

After installing you have to initilize new motor>>roll window all the way down >>turn off key >>hold switch down>>then turn on key while still holding down for 20 seconds

Question

ok the switch was replace.didn't fix the problem
it ain't binding or bad bushing on regulator.why because while
holding the switch in down position you don't hear or feel the motor humming like it was binding i would like to by pass the one touch i know the motor is good other wise i wouldn't be able to put window all the way down the up

From experience, the switch does NOT effect the 'one touch' capacity. I replaced a green back (one touch) switch with a new one cause the plastic coating over the down arrow was cracked. Before I did this, the window would go down on one touch, but not up. I assumed the new switch would fix this problem, but it did not. The 'one touch' feature may be triggered by the switch, but driven by the motor. That previously mentioned scenario of putting a one touch switch into a sunroof doesn't play either. That's why Umnitza & Bavarian Auto are gettin' $35 bucks for logic controllers to make sunroofs work with one touch.
