325 ic top replacement
is it possible to replace the complete top (frame and canvas) on a 90 325ic with one from a 92 325 ic being that one is manual and the other electric if so are te modifications a big problem?? would it be easier just to recover the manual top?? I have the option of getting the complete assembly from a 92 which was totalled but top is near perfect.

Try asking at the cabrio club. I've never had to replace mine but it is recommended not to replace the fabric yourself. A big job. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bmwe30cabrioclub/
The 92 should fit the 90 but the issue is the poor reliability of power tops. Seems like a great luxury, but there are plenty o' complaints on the cabrio site.

I agree here, it may be worth the money to take the car to a porfessional shop to have the top installed. I know you have to pull here and stretch there and all sorts of other lovely steps to get it right...
