Understanding Defect Codes
When we bought the 2001 M3, we got a print out of the "Vehicle History Report." The seller did not have all the invoices. The report listed each time the car had been to the dealer and various "defect codes." The dealer that did the work didn't give exact interpretations, but did read off all the invoices from the computer. It was all standard upkeep stuff. Is there somewhere other than a dealer to get that info? I called our local dealer and they have been much less than eager to help.
