Another engine?

Finally my 2.7 went belly up, I think. Lost all compression ( mostly ) and when it gets warm it dies! PLus other ailments. Found another engine from an 82 525 w/ 118,000 on it for $50! Has everything on it too. But I also have all components from my old one. What other items (wiring, ECU, ,aybe) will I need to make this work? Or is the engine too old? My car is an 85 325E.

I think that the long blocks are similar, if not identical. You should be able to move everything from your original longblock to the new one, providing that it's a good engine that runs...
