Why changing your oil is a good thing...
So in follow-up to my previous post about having a valve job done on my E30, I thought I'd show you all the aftermath.
This is why you should change your oil every 3000 miles.... Form these pictures, it's clear that the (cough) previous owner (cough) didnt change it often enough.. Here is the old camshaft, modeled by the lovely Jason Of Pelican.. Check out the pitting and wear on this thing..

Wow Wonder what mine looks like now... hmmm
BTW, I'll offer this for your consideration... I've always thought that a pair of smaller cam shafts would look super cool instead of candles - either on either side of a fireplace, or on a fireplace mantle... Cool for a bachelor apt, or guys room. Thoughts? |
