flywheel
Can anyone know ..is the 325 flywheel for 87-92 can be use for 93 325is ? ..because i found out that the 87-91 stock flywheel weight 16lbs....and the 93-up weight 25lbs...., my clutch on 93 325is just burn out and the flywheel not wear out evenly...i gonna resurface the flywheel....plan to buy lightweight flywheel..but too later i bought the OEM clutch...not the m5 e34 clutch.....so looking for better alternate....

I believe the diameters are different
I really dont reccommend lightened flywheels for anything but V-8's or other slow-revving engines. If you installed one, the engine would spool up quicker, but it would also spool DOWN much quicker as well. The flywheel helps to balance the engine, when you remove the weight, it throws the balance of an already high revving engine off and makes the powerband feel a little strange. Basically, you would need to pay extra atention to keep the revs up during shifting... |
