phantom cruise control
My cruise control stopped working almost 4 years ago and I've looked for all the simple solutions (fuse,..steering wheel stalk,..loose connections) but to no avail. Next thing I know I'm fiddlin'g with on the way to work after drinking to much coffee and the car surges ahead and takes hold. I turned the cruise off and it has'nt duplicated this since. Still not working. Why such a phantom and has anyone ever rebuilt a cruise system?

Somehow i think the CC on these cars isnt all that great.
On mine, I've used it maybe twice, the second time, it refused to disengage, even when I stepped on the brakes and shifted. I pulled over, disconnected the cable, havent used it since... |

man that's beat up! And they thought audi had all those crazy surge problems back in the 80's that dented many an ego.
I have to agree that bmw's system is rather abrupt in it's engagement but I like to use it even in traffic as it keeps me alert and smooth. |
