Fan speed Resistor?

My fan is working on only fan speed 4...
In my old Falcon this mean the Resistor was shot, is it the same with the Bmers?
Where is the resistor and how difficult are they to replace?
Thanks for any advice.
Luke.

I just replaced mine last week. It is relatively simple. You can order the part from Pelican. See my thread on this message board entitled "blower motor bad?". There are some useful replies. One I quoted below.

Good luck.

It's located basically behind the on-board computer. To access, you need to remove the lower place underneath the steering wheel. Climb below and look above and to the right of the gas pedal. There will be a wiring harness that is connected to the front part of the resistor, which is snapped into a plactic fixture behind the computer and climate control units.

Remove the wiring harness with some pliers as it will be difficult to pull out. Take a screwdriver and "pry" the resistor out of it's fixture. It snaps back in so you have to use the screwdriver to assist with removal. Once out, simply snap back in the new resistor unit and then reconnect the wiring harness. Replace the lower place underneath the steering wheel and you should be good to go.
