1992 325i auto trans can't shift higher than 5500 RPM from 1st to 2nd gear.

Hi.

My problem is my auto trans can"t shift higher than 5500 RPM from 1st to 2nd, whether in Sports or Economy mode. I don't have any problem from 2nd to 3rd etc. where I can "hold" the shifting till more than 6500.

Is there a part to change, a Chip to install or adjustments to make?

Thanks.
Bobby

Im a little confused, you want to raise the shift point of your automatic tranny? There are programs out there available to do this, however i'm not sure if they are available for the 92...

Is this a convertible or coupe?

Hi.

Thanks for replying.

Yes I want to raise my shift points!! My car is a 4-door Sedan. I know that Dinan makes such a Transmission Chip. However the acceleration gains is insignificant.

Can you direct me to some people who might be making a better Chip?

Thanks.

Bobby

My advice would be to check out Turner Motorsports. They might have something. The Jim Conforti engine chips work very well (I have one in my car, better than the Dinan IMHO) Im not sure about the tranny stuff though..

Hi.

I too have a TMS ECU Chip. My 325i now flies!

But no. They don't have a tranny chip.

Thanks though.
