wipers stuck in up position

when my wipers are turned off they rest straight up instead of where they should be. Otherwise they work fine. Is there a quick fix for this?

wondering the same thing

Mine is doing the same thing. The wipers did not work at all when I first bought the car (last saturday). I replaced the wiper motor and now the wipers get stuck in the up position. Is it a bad switch (lever) or the relay?

Thank for you help,

Andy

Just a guess, but is there a possibility thast the shaft on the motor needs to be set at a full rest position before installation? I havent taken one of these apart, so im not real sure...

I would probably check the relay first and see that its in good shape.

Check the relay or control box for the intermittent wipers. Not sure where it would be, but the Bentley manual should help. Had the same problem with a GM product and almost went nuts trying to find the problem.

Good Luck!

gmc has a (recall) about wipers not working and intermittent stalling. This only effects millions of suburbans, work trucks and vans but nothing has been said about it and you have raise hell to get them to fix. I should know,...as we have 25 service vehicles all with the same problem that only surfaces when it rains.

I believe I had that happen a long time ago. Itis usually a bad realy. The relayis located under the dash. Put a multimeter toit and you can find out for sure.

I checked my HAynes manual and basically Iwas right. It is located under the dash (the relay). You will need to test the relay. If you wantt he test procedure, let me know.
