I want to tow my '88 325is behind my motorhome.
Is it safe to flat tow this car for thousands of miles like that? Are there any steps or precautions I should take to prevent damage to the drivetrain?

Most instructions for towing long distances include removing the driveshaft of the towed vehicle.
I am sure that not everyone does it, but you would have to be certain the car was locked in neutral somehow. I have a buddy with a tow dolly that he backs the rear wheels onto so only the fronts are on the pavement. I know that is not really "flat towing", but it might be an alternative ot removing the driveshaft. |
