M3 Models
I am looking at the possibility of getting an M3 for a daily driver - and trying to become a little edudcated on the models thru the years. What are the basic model year/chassis/engine differences for the 90s? Any glaring things to look for when shopping?
appreciate any info thx, todd 1986 911 coupe |

Try to get the latest year possible for any particular generation M3 you are looking for. If its the '90's model you are seeking the last year was '99.Those are the E-36 M3's and BMW typically makes incremental improvements with each passing year which is 1 reason to look for the latest year. These cars are usually driven harder because of what the car is and respresents so make sure the bushings are sound as well as the tranny mounts and the driveshaft. Many of these cars also see track time so look for clues. As far as differences from year to year I think Jeron hit it right on the head. Good luck!!
