Convert to five lug hubs?
Curious if this is something anyone here has done.
Just recently got a hold of some five lug Mille Miglas in trade, was going to sell them, but think it would neat to put them on the 325is. Wondering if it's as simple as changing out the wheel hubs.... |

The E30M3 was 5-lug, and it's relatively straightforward to swap over to it's suspension bits.

E30 only 5 lugs is M3, not possible to mount them on standar E30s but changing the axis. which obviously is not so easy.

Not to burst your bubble, but this has been discussed hundreds of times, mostly on other boards. The bottom line is if you're doing it to use some five lug wheels you might have, forget it. Just buy some wheels that will work for your car.
Some people do it so they can get the larger brakes that the M3's use, which is fine if you track the car a bunch. If you don't, then stock E30 brakes are fine for everyday use. It'll probably cost you close to a grand and a full weekend to do everything right with a five lug swap. Last time I checked, a grand can buy a pretty sweet set of 4 lug wheels. ![]() Good Luck, Jim |

I looked into this as well. I found and option in using E28 hubs, however they would need some custom machining to make it work correctly.. $$$$$$$

Hello, I'm new to the forum,
About the 5-lug swap... I can (and has) been done. You can take E30 M3 suspension (all four corners), E28 (front) or M3 Roadster (rear) suspension. I've also hear that the E36 318ti rear's work as well. the rear's are SUPPOSED to be a direct bolt-on, using e28 axle's. The fronts (if NOT using the e30 M3 parts) can be a little more tricky. The caster is different on the e28's, so you have to shim/modify the suspension some. What happens is, the wheel is sitting too far back in the wheel well (almost rubs). I'm sure if you look around, you'll be able to find more detailed directions. Josh F. |

As I said before... lots of cash to make it work right...
Much more than what the Mille Miglas are worth... |
