RPM Gauge Off

I recently changed out my 5000 rpm gauge from my 325 too 7000 rpm gauge from an 325is. the gauge is functioning but the rpms are not matching the engine. Do i need something else to make my new gauge act right or do i have to put my funky 5000 rpm gauge back in? thank you in advance.

Why did you do this in the first place?

To answer your question simply, it wont work... put the old tach back in...
