For the A/C?
You'll need to remove the panel in the engine compartment on the upper firewall. Not a particuarly easy item to replace. Also, if there is still refrigerant in the system, you'll need to have it removed. DONT vent it off into the air.. R12 is bad for the Ozone layer. At the same time, you'll also need to replace the reciever drier. Lot of work involved in gettign the A/C to work correctly. There's more to it than replacing and filling. Tellme what you are trying to do here... |

i've had the a/c system checked out. the high side shows pressure about 250 and the low side about 10 (yes that is right, 10). dye was added and there is no aparent leak in the system. the judment of my mech is a bad expansion valve. he is going to evacuate the system for free. instead of paying beacoup bucks for him to install the expansion valve and dryer-receiver, i've decided to do it. i just wanted to know how to access the expansion valve though. my system has been converted to 134. the mech will then re-evacuate and recharge the system. another question, could my problem also be the evaporator temp sensor? do you have any other thoughts on what would be causing the variant pressure? the system only blows warm air right now. will i be able to replace the expansion valve without taking apar the blower assembly and having to replace those gaskets? from the diagrams of what i've seen (very limited pictures), i cannot tell if the expansion valve is attached outside that assembly. thanks
