loosing two cylinders and have no clue!

i have a 89' 325i and i developed an miss at idle along with some flat acceleration spots. i changed the spark plugs, and found out through some testing that one of the fuel injectors was leaking and causing the lack of power. i adjusted the valves, changed the injectors, changed several vacuum lines, did tons of testing throughout the system. finally got everything back on, and cranked it. this is where the problems started

two questions:

i hooked up the fuel lines to the fuel pressure regulator in reverse of the correct order (pressure from fuel pump into the out back to the tank). so my first question is: would that ruin the FPR?

second, after i reconnected them correctly, i found that i could barely get it to start. i had to hold the throttle open slightly to get it to crank. when it did start, i found that two of the cylinders were not firing, #2 and #6. it is like they aren't getting any fuel because the plugs don't even look like they have been in the engine. what could be causing this?

i think maybe a couple of the injectors i bought are bad. or could it be that i have such a vacuum leak that it is dropping two cylinders?

Thanks in advance.

Typically, checking the resistance of the injector coil can indicate if it is faulty or not...

that's true.......

you know, that IS usually true. but, nothing really about what has happened about this car has been the usual. everything on the electrical side of it checked out. i checked voltage to each injector, injector coil resistance, continuinty between the C191 connector and the ground side of the injector harness on both circuits - the 1, 3, 5, and the 2, 4, 6. everything checked out. it's kinda weird, but it is fixed now, so thanks everyone for your help.

i really like this forum; it has bailed me out more than once.
