weight reduction, Yellow stuff in trunk under carpet, what is it?

I found that I could easily pull up the heavy yellow stuff in the trunk under the carpeting. Does anyone else have this stuff in their car or do you think the previous owner added it? There seems to be at least 40 pounds of it. I'll post pictures if no one knows what I'm talking about, but if it is standard sound deadening then I'd guess someone else has noticed it.

Sound deadening material.

I have read that people often do this. For whatever reasons, I don't have any under the carpet in trunk on my iX and I don't think I have any in the spare wheel well either.

Thanks, I thought so. There was 48 pounds of it. Now I want to put on a fiberglass hood and lighter sport seats. I've caught the weightloss bug.
