spec & source of valve cover screws for E30/M20?

hi all,

does anyone know the size/thread, and torquing, specifications of the (8) E30/M20's valve cover bolts?

mine are threaded rods with spin-on nuts ....

also, a source of said bolts -- perhaps in stainless? maybe with rounded caps? -- would be much appreciated.

thanks!

cheers,

richard

Richard:

I have had great success ordering from McMaster Carr for any and ALL hardware needs. Don't know the size off the top of my head but ... if you have a stud pull it and take to an autozone etc... to find the size, pitch, etc... Or, better yet, use a micrometer if you have one and mic it at home, get online and order the hardware from McMaster Carr.

My Bentley says 11 Ft-lbs. You must torque them in sequence to make sure the cover does not warp when you tighten them:

6 4 2 8

7 1 3 5
