Hi all thank-you to wayne for his speedy response to my last post. any-way if i replace the climate control computer in my 318is does it really needed to be coded by Bmw or is this another way of getting another fifty pounds plus vat out of me.

Which year is it again? I don't think the early units have any of that with the manual climate control, but I think you mentioned it had the automatic unit?

its a 1998 model with auto air con, so i guess it will have to be recoded. one after thought does the recoding apply to new unit or will a second hand one go srraight in?
