Remove the instrument cluster and replace the bulb. It's got a small black plastic base on it and requires a quater turn to remove. You may as well replace all the little indicator bulbs while you are there save yourself some agg. down the road.

Does your odometer have a digital display? If it does you will need to replace the cluster. Mine is intermittently illegible, & I was told that internal parts are not available for those digital clusters.

They typically go for around $100 on EBay, then you'd need to have someone program the correct mileage, & get rid of the red replacement cluster indicator light.

I'm in the process of doing mine, total cost is gonna be around $250. Kinda a drag for such a minor thing.

You only need to replace the bulb if the numbers are visable just not light up. Start the car in the sunlight or bright area and see if the numbers are there. If they are a bulb will do it. If they are not there than follow supertracks post.
To remove the cluster just remove the 2 screws that hold the IC in place they are located in front of the lense on the top fo the cluster. juntly pull out on the top and roll it towards the steering wheel. If you have a tilt wheel pull it all the way down. Un hook the wire conectors and pull the IC into the top of the wheel(in the straight position) Jently turn the steering wheel to the left with the IC in it. The IC will roll out but be very carefull with the turnsignal switch it may scratch the lense of the IC. Replace the bulbs and reverse the procedure. It sounds much harder than it is.
You can remove the wheel and it is much easier but you will end up with a hard code for the airbag and it will have to be reset, It won't clear itself and the light will be on.
