I have a 1994 318is with 155k ,man trans. build date 06/94. Recently my car has developed a sqealing/dry bearing noise around the front of the engine,it seems to be worse when first started after sitting all night. To attempt fixing the problem I replaced the idler pulley on the alternator and the belt, but i noticed when I depressed the hydraulic tensioner it made a kind of bubbling sound like it was leaking pressure or something and seemed a little too easy to move. It still makes the sound but not as bad, the idler and tensioner pulleys seem the same and should probably be replaced at the same time.So i would like to replace the tensioner and the pulley at the same time.Any advice and a possible part or part number for the tensioner would help me greatly! Thanks

I'm familiar with that noise....also replaced the pulleys trying to rid myself of that annoying sound...in the end it was the tensioner....had about 150k on mine when it went.....can't find my invoice with the part numbers....it was a comon item and the dealer stocked it.
