Heater Problem

Thank you for taking the time to read my post. I recently purchased a 1996 328is with 128k mi. When I run the heater the air does not seem to get very hot. I have; turned the climate control to 90, adjusted the manual vent temperature control knob, the radiator is full, and the cap seems to be tight and in good working order. Presumably a related issue, the temperature gauge never gets out of the blue. I have not flushed the system, checked the S.G. of the coolant, or checked the thermostat. The check engine light is on, but i'm not sure if this is related. I will hopefully resolve this after I receive the service manual and code scanner/reset tool I recently purchased. The car seems to run very well and I do not have any other noticable issues.

Thank you

since it's always in the blue I would start with changing the thermostat

Thermostat all the way . And your trouble code will likely be " coolant temp out of range" . Try your local Autozone to reset your obdII code and verify what it was . They offer this service for free .
