perfromance chip uprade, is it worth it ?

just wanting advice on if these chip upgrades are worth while or not. I've heard you can better better mpg and performance but I don't know anyone that's used one. A car wash fried my dme so if I do the chip I might as well put it in the new dme. pro's and con's anyone ? thanks.
