Air filters
Are K&N the best filters for Bimmers?

'depends what you mean by "the best". A lot of people might say that the BMW designed ones are the best for BMWs!
If you want a bit more air flow, then I think that a K&N will do it.

OEM paper filters are very good. They have about 10sqft of surface area.
K&N oiled gauze are good but they have 3 sqft of surface area and will allow more dirt and air to pass. I would use OEM or Amsoil or another good quality paper unless there is a compelling reason to use K&N.

I like the K&N because they are re-usable.
I have always bought one for every car the first week I had it then never again. A re-usable oil filter would be nice too!
