Exclamation Taking out headlights/cleaning

I know this cant be a hard task however i just stuck new halogens in, but the difference is very small, I think i just need to clean the housing for the headlights, i tried to take em out but cant figure out how...

There are threads on bimmerforums where owners have removed AND disassembled their headlights to put in Angel Eyes and for other reasons. Look up one of those thread for a DIY.

Just putting in halogens may not give you brighter lights. You need to either get a different color hue or a larger wattage bulb.

you got the link, cuz primarily i just wanna clean the housing area for the lights, it hasnt been cleaned since 1992 haha

Do you want to clean the inside or outside? Outside you need plastic polish and a buffer or lots of elbow grease.

The inside depends of the year but for some models it involves baking them in the ooven to soften the bonding adhesive.

I wanna clean the insides of them...but first i need to get them off before i attempt ne cleaning,
and when i get em off...i toss em in the oven...wont they melt?

I cleaned mine, polished the plastic lens, changed bulb wattage, spend $$ and time...nothing realy good until i changed the whole thing with DEPO headlights.

Cheap, glass lens, look very nice. Possible update to hid and angel eyes.
