'93 325i auto drivetrain vibration
I have a 325i '93 with 107K miles. It seems that when accelerating there is a vibration or roughness in the engine and appears to be in the drivetrain.
How do you check the driveshaft bearing and flex-disk, and should they be replaced at the same time? Anything else need to be done while these are replaced? thanks, Todd |

The flex disk is visible at the rear of the tranny. A worn flexdisk/guibo is usually apparent on transitions from acceleration to deceleration.
I replaced my flex but not my center support bearing in my 97M3 at 100k. You should also replace your cat and muffler hangers. Maybe your flexdisk nuts. Shift bushings (ball cup, selector sponge, shift boot). Also consider you are nearly 1/2 way to replacing your clutch.

You might want to check out the transmission mounts also. The good news is that Discount Import on McLoughlin sells them for about $ 8 each and they only take about 10 min to change.

Tranny mounts good call!
Engine mounts too but they are hard to tell and expensive. Diff mounts usually don't go out.
