Central Locking Unit Location

I've searched through for some information, but it's time to ask. 1986 BMW 325e. Everything had been fine, but completely quit a couple days ago. Basically had time to check the fuse box.

Going to dig into it in the next few days, but don't want to wander all over. Where is the central control box located? I do have an aftermarket remoke unlock installed, but it had been working well.

Hi,
Right off hand, I believe there is a module box inside the trunk, right next to the trunk key tumbler, accessed inside the trunk, under the felt lining between the taillights.

That ties the trunk lock into the electric system, but it's not the cenral unit. I think it's up under the driver side kick panel, going to find out today. I can hear something click there when I try to use the locks.

I found it. Down in the driver kick panel. Under the speaker, right next to the interior light relay. Still makes an audible click when I try to activate the locks. I checked the driver door and truck units, and they appear to be working. I do think the central unit has gone.
