Garage
idle control valve (ICV)

It might be the ICV but it could also be a vacuum leak or something else.

What year, model and engine?

Possible ICV or bad fan clutch? Although, fan clutch usually causes engine temperature problems....

when mine failed, I don't recall any problems with engine operation, just temps going up while idling.
