Angry Blower Motor Resistor Location!

I have a 97 328is and i am having the same problem with the ac/heat. Ive read many of the forums and seemed to find the culprit as a bad final stage unit. So i ordered that and since it was only 20 bucks i grabbed a blower motor resistor pack as well. Well, i changed out the final stage unit and that hasnt seemed to do the trick...so i figured i would go ahead and install the resistor pack as well...maybe that was the problem after all. Well now my problem is, I dont know where the hell this resistor pack is to change it out. Ive read that it should be above the gas pedal near the center console and that i could possibly be facing up toward the steering wheel. Well either i dont see it or something is covering it or its in a different place in my model car. If anyone could possibly help me with this dilemma i would be much appreciative. thanks.

I thought those we two different names for the same part.

We have discussed it a few times here and there are two different resistor pack part numbers. Maybe you ordered both styles.

Also, the resistor fixes one type of problem but there is another problem that occurs inside the climate control that can be repaired too. Search this forum and let me know what you find.

Tisk, tisk. You didn't search far enough.

Blower resistor issues in 323iS; did BMW change resistors for one year?

Since you replaced your resistor then maybe you have a climate control computer or a motor problem. I think we have discussed these too but here is something on the computer.

You might find someone on ebay that will repair the unit. Or get the instructions and go to an electronics repair or a repair individual that IS good a soldering.
