OIl temp/pressure on E36 M3
Dumb Newbie ?
Just got my E36M last week...I thought they had oil temp and pressure readouts? Do I need to turn them on some how? I guess I could look at the Owners Manual. If not, what is the best way to add these gauges? Almost a must have for a sporty car. I dont want to hack up the interior if I can help it.

There is only an oil pressure idiot light that comes on at 7psi.
There are gauge kits for sale that fit in the eyeglass tray and look stock. I did a lot of shopping 2 years ago and I bought from here: http://www.leatherz.com They had the best prices especially on the oil dist block and the al la carte gauge panel. I don't know if they do this but you should consider an (oil press/oil temp/water temp) kit rather than the (oil press/oil temp/volt) kit that most sell. For the water temp you need an aluminum thermostat housing which you can tap for the water temp sensor. Make sure the kit you buy uses a distribution block to get the oil press and temp.
