Camshaft Sensor - Anything else I should replace?

I will be replacing the camshaft sensor on my '98 328i next weekend. The engine has been running rough for the last two or three weeks (and getting progressively worse) and wasn't able to read the diagnostic code until today. Anyway, I am wondering if the engine's poor performance over the last few weeks suggests I look at/replace anything else, such as spark plugs?

Thanks,

Mark in (cold) Kentucky

Spark plugs, fuel filter, air filter, etc, are all basic maintenance and if you suspect they are bad or it is time then you should replace them. But I wouldn't necessarily replace them as part of your current problem. I assume your CEL code is pointing to the camshaft sensor.

Yup, the CEL code is telling me it's the camshaft sensor that is the problem.
