Engine replacement

I have gotten fairly far with this project on a 1988 325i Convertible. I have used the 101 projects book and the bentley manual religiously. I have the engine in the car and have hooked most everything up. I am stumped. I have a hose and valve which I have identified as the Additional Thermostat as listed in the Real OEM parts web site. Only problem is, I can't figure out where it goes! I marked everything, but not this item as it came out when I pulled the engine. I know that it hooks to the heater valve on the firewall...probably the bottom hose connection, but I can't figure out what else it hooks to. Anyone have an idea???

Anyone know a place to get a layout for the v belts or have a layout?

Close to finished

Well, I have figured everything out now...I think. I used the 101 projects book, The Bentley Manual. This site, the online repair manual, RealOEM.com and some people I know that I could ask questions of. I have a 1988 325I Convertible that had a blown cylinder. I decided to order an engine from Bavarian Auto Recyclers and put It in myself. I know that sounds crazy, but I wanted to try. Things I learned: Mark everything as you take it off. I did this, but not enoughh! EVERYTHING. Take digital pictures as you go. Again, I did, but not enoughh! Clean all surfaces where components mount. I had to take everything back apart because I had a water-pump leak. Old gasket material under my new gasket. I learned many other things, if I ever had to do it again...never! I should be starting it up in the next day or two, so I am not out of the woods yet. Best thing about doing this is that I know where every part is and how to get to it. I could do a timing belt change in less than an hour easy! Oh an one more very important lesson...the most dangerous tool in my tool box is the torque wrench. If you don't set it right it is extremely easy to twist off a stud! Anyone know how to get a broken stud out? It is stuck in there and I can't get it to turn. There is enough sticking up to grab, but it won't turn.
