91 E30 318ic
Greetings,
I have a 91 318IC with 138,000; Want to change the water pump because I know they usually go actually before this mileage; Anyway besides changing the pump, can anyone tell me what else is reccommended to change at the same time? Thank you! Bryan |

Hoses and belts will be easy to replace during this job. Thermostat is a common replacement and so is the radiator especially on E36's. Coolant.

Thanks for the quick reply. Since its a timing chaing and not a belt, was figuring there was a few things to replace.
Someone mentioned the timing chain tensioner which is not supposed to be a big deal. Thanks! |

I thought you were asking about things that relate to the water pump replacement, as a labor saving technique.
Timing chain tensioner is very easy to replace and on some models it is not expensive. If it is expensive though, I would not just replace it for no reason.
