hello,new here.325 power problem

hello,i just purchased a 95 325ic with 90k.the car runs great accept for a strange problem.after i drive the car for a while then park it when i get back in it to go i put the car in drive and you cant give it gas for a few seconds,i mean the pedal is fine and the linkage is fine the car will only idle while giving it gas to go then all of a sudden you here a tiny pop and it-goes fine.the asct light is also on.like i said when i first start the car for the day it is fine but the rest of the time after i park it does this.it only last about 10- 30 seconds but it is strange.i almost got hit pulling out in traffic.you can pump the pedal and nothing then pop its fine..any input would be great..thanks for all the help and nice to meet everyone, jeremy

Seems to be a common issue with these cars. Suggest you start with plugs, boots, coils, throttle position sensor in that order!

i suggest you find out what the dsc light is on for. then take it from there. is your car an automatic?

jb6983 07-12-2007 04:12 PM

yes it is automatic.ive been reading that if the asc-t light stays on that there is a problem and that it will make the engine lose power as that is what the asc-t is supposed to do when needed, just not all the time..im not sure..

Probably a wheel speed sensor.

Turn off or disable the ASC and see if the problem continues.

To disable it disconnect the connector on #8 here:

Yours is probably OBD-I so you may have to go to the dealer for diagnose which speed sensor or pull them all and clean them.
