Overheating Problem?
OK new rebuild on a 1997 328is. New water pump, new thermostat, flushed radiator (good flow), new hoses, no leaks.
The coolant temperature sensor was bad so I bypassed it to turn on the auxillary fan. Let it idle till operating temp, then she revs higher R's and over-heats. What the He77 is happening? Seems like the thermostat isn't opening. Help Me Please tbs04 |

Checked the Thermostat...
it's OK. Then started the engine and expected to see coolant gush out of the thermostat port. Trickle at best. What's up with this POS?

Don't feel too bad. I had the same problem recently and I answer overheating questions weekly.
The problem is you cant bleed it if you skip even one of the steps. 1) hot 2) heater on 3) bleed screw open 4) rev the engine to 3k-ish for sustained periods 5) kill engine 6) refill coolant 7) repeat
