Hi, I Love my BMW and It has almost 200,000 miles on the engine so it's lost alot of ooommph. I would like to buy a used but good engine to go in mine can anyone tell me how to do this and the in's and outs of doing an engine swap. Please, I appreciate it so much.

I would test it to make sure it really has lost power.
Good tests would be: Dyno $50 Compression $20 DIY Leak down (better than compression) $40-80 DIY A leak down will tell you if the head gasket, valves or piston rings are shot and you can rebuild it accordingly. If its just the head then its about 12hrs of your labor plus $600 in parts and machine shop labor.

where would you suggest taking it for the dyno? down to the stealer? if they only charge those numbers that would be great.

Find a private shop, try muscle car shops. Here in DFW $50 is the going rate. Usually once a year someone sets up a day at a local shop and we get $30 for two pulls because we bring 20+ cars.
