The A/C and Alternator belts are making noise when the car is started in cold weather. After a few minutes the noise goes away. I plan to replace both belts myself. Are there any tips that anyone can offer that may help me get this done right the first time?
Thanks. |

The tensioner pulley has a cover over the center that must be removed. Then you need a Allen socket and a long wrench to pull the tensioner back. Spin the pulleys to see if the bearings are good. They should not make noise and should not spin free like a bicycle wheel, they should spin and stop quickly. The tensioners should require a lot of pressure to pull back.
