BMW Roundel xenon

is there a difference in the hyper white and super white bulbs? If so, which is best? closest to original?

Thanks for the help

Those terms have no specific meaning.

The OEM bulbs fairly yellow so any Xenon should be whiter.

I suggest getting bulbs that claim to be white or white with just a tint of blue and stay away from anything that mentions purple.

I have Eurolite XB series which are 3800k and I think they are modestly whiter and brighter than stock but not "in your face white." If you want something close to stock but an improvement I would recommend them.

Thanks Jeron I appreciate the help. I ordered bulbs, don't think I got what I ordered though. The BMW manual says not to use replacements that aren't 55 watt, the bulbs they sent me are 100-170w. And they say plasma blue on the front of the package and plasma white on the back. Should I just scrap those and start over? How blue will they be? (I don't want to look like a pimp-mobile) LOL
And will they harm the wiring?

Thanks again.

What year/model is this for? Must be an E30. It's hard to find E36 bulbs in higher wattages.

I have run higher wattage bulbs in other cars but they were 80/100 replacing a 55/65. I loved them but I don't know about 100/170, thats a lot of wattage.

Sorry, It's a 2001 323i.
The guy that I bought the bulbs from assured me the blue is not "BLUE" just makes them whiter. But he just dances around the wattage issue. I'm hesitant to use them, I don't want to damage anything.

If you are talking about blue tint to the bulb then I'd say he is correct, blue tint on the bulb does not mean the light will be that color blue. There is a lot of good info on the web about this. I dont remember all that I read but you will find the research interesting.

You should be concerned about the wattage. A little more than stock should be ok but no where near double. The wattage isnt imprinted on the base of the bulb?
