check engine light

My check engine light has come on and I did the turn the key on but dont start, pump the gas pedal 5x in 5 seconds thing. It shows a 1 2 2 1 which is a bad o2 sensor. I then tried the hold the gas pedal down for more than 10 seconds thing to turn off the light but, it has not turned off the light. How can I turn off the light?

You will need the scanner or the reset tool.

Peake Research makes one, so does Assenmacher to name a couple, but I am sure that there are others. Pelican carries both, but you can certainly do a little googling to look for additional brands and prices.

Did you replace the O2 sensor? If not the light won't go off.

There won't be a need to reset it after you replace the O2 sensor. granted the O2 sensor is whats causing the fault.
