87 325e engine flooding
1987 325e engine flooding. I've disabled the cold start injector and capped the fuel line going to it so no extra fuel is gettin in through it. What is happening is that it is flooding so bad that gas is coming up out through the air intake manifold and leaking into the airfilter. A lot of gas and really quick after trying to start there is a steady stream coming out of the air filter housing. Anyone have an idea why or what could be causing this?

I'd love to see someone answer this or attempt to. I am having the same issue.
My background may shed some light on my situation. The initial problem I had was a bad hesitation (whiplash bucking) upon buying this beautiful car. I figured I would mess around with it to get it running right and I'd have a beauty. Problem is after trying to drive it the 45 miles home it died a few miles from my house and wouldn't start. It hasn't started since (yesterday). I noticed a strong gas smell when I tried starting it today and it smelled like it was really strong at the AFM. I took off the boot and saw gas in there...Now what? |
