Engine Whine - BMW M42 1.8L

Hi, I have a 93 318is M42 motor.

I just recently replaced my entire timing chain assembly.

I changed the cam, crank & idler sprockets, the tensioner, tensioner & main guide, the upper & lower guides, the timing chain and all relevant gaskets.

I also changed my thermostat, water pump and all 3 belts.

When I started my engine, I got that rattling sound then the oil pressure stablized and everything was perfect. After bleeding the cooling system, I went for a drive and noticed a whinning sound coming from the engine during acceleration between 1500-3000rpm. Also during deceleration using engine braking between 3000 & down to idle.

Is it normal for the M42 to whine loudly? It sounds like there is a supercharger bolted on. Could it just be the new timing components need to settle in or wear in?

Any help or advice would be appreciated greatly.
Thanks, Nick

I usually associate a whine with a bad bearing, usually in one of the deflector or one of the tensioner pulleys.
