HELP with CEL 1263

Hey everybody, the other day when I started going from a stop my car bucked as if the engine was about to stall and my Check Engine Light came on then it drove normally. When I checked for the code the check engine light gave me 1263 = Fuel Tank Evaporative System (EVAP). Pelican Parts says - (The fuel tank evaporative system has a purge control valve that generates this code if there is a short circuit or open connection) I checked the voltage to the valve and checked if the valve opens and closes with ignition on/off - it seems to be working fine, I found a little moisture on the plug so I cleaned the contacts so I'm sure the valve is good now. I disconnected and reconnected the battery and strarted the car and let it idle for 5 minutes the CEL was off however as soon as I gave it a little gas the CEL came up again with the same code, and the car still bucks every once in a while when driving even at freeway speeds....please help me figure out this one or at least point me in a direction of where to check.......THANK YOU.

What year and model?

I get a CEL Evap code about twice a year. I have not bothered fixing anything and it does not cause any drivability issues.

I'm trying to imagine what might cause the car to stall or buck AND be related to the Evap system.

The only common items between the two systems, engine and evap, is the tank itself and the electrical system.

So maybe trash in the fuel tank. Or the siphon between the tank lobes is not functioning properly and it is fuel starving but only for a second. Or the pump is going bad.

Those are all just guesses, sorry.

Are you sure the light and the buck happen at the same time? Does the car just sometimes buck regardless of the light?

...Thank you for the reply...

Well about an hour ago I went driving the car, the CEL was off as I was driving it stumbled again and the CEL came on simultaneously. It bucks as if you're sitting in a car with a driver who doesn't know how to drive a manual and he's trying to launch the car and instead it stumbles stumbles then goes - if you know what I mean.

Let me know what you think.
