chirping sound coming from dash of 95 m3

had stereo installed @ circuit city today.
when i cranked the car up to go home, i get this sound like a radar detector chirping, and this green light on the dash.

the light never goes out and the chirping never stops until i turn off the car.
was a built in radar detector an option??

solved my own problem !!!!!
the lights in the dash are for a radar and laser detector/ jammer.
pulled out the dash and found horns for the detector in the air vents.
under the dash there are two toggle switches which i assume controls the system.
htere is also a switch to turn down the volume of the system.
still don't know how it works, though.
