auxilliary fan doesn't work in my 95 M3

the auxilliary fan doesn't seem to work in my 95 M3.
drove the car for almost three hours on saturday, and temp guage got up to halfway.
i've been driving the car for three weeks everyday to work, which is 60 miles round trip. the guage never goes past halfway. i know the fan should work, but i never see it, or hear it turn on.
i've never seen the fan on my 95 318 turn on either.

is this something i need to urgently handle ??
thanks

The fan only comes on when the primary fan cant keep up or when the AC is on.

Does it come on when the AC is on?

The needle should sit at halfway once it is warm and never move.

Then you have a problem.

I cant recall if there is a fuse but after that check the relay, then try powering the fan directly.

Under the hood, in the power dist box next to the brake booster. Standing beside the car, should be bottom right for stage 1 and bottom row third from right for Stage 2.
