E36 325i ´91 clutch disk backwards?

I replaced my clutch and I had checked that I had the "Getriebsseite" towards the transmission. But then I took the disk down for a minute and put it back. And now I don´t remember if I put it back the right way.

Somebody told me that it is impossible to install the clutch disk backwards on a E36 325i with a dual mass flywheel? It would be impossible to tighten the pressure plate bolts as the disk would hit the flywheel bolts. The pressure plate would not set against the flywheel correctly. Is this true?

Are you asking because you haven't finished putting it all back together?

If it is installed incorrectly the clutch will not function properly so you will know right away.

I have put the gearbox back. When I came home from the garage it then hit me. Had I installed it the right way? If I press the clutch pedal and try to change a gear, should I notice it then if the disc is backwards?

But I´ve heard from a couple of BMW guys that it´s not possible to mount the pressure plate properly if the disc is backwards.

I just tried the clutch pedal, it feels normal. I put it in gear and tried to rotate the axle = does not rotate. Then I pressed the clutch pedal down and now the axle rotates. No weird sounds or anything unusual. So I think everything is OK.

I can't start the engine to test because I have the inlet manifold on the garage table.

I cant say, regarding the flywheel bolts, if it is possible to put it in backwards.

If it is backwards it will rub constantly and the clutch will not function normally. If everything is working normally then you put it in correctly.
