BMW Roundel Clutch Slave cyl. replacement

Hello!!
When installing a new slave cyl. is there a way to know for sure if the piston rod is aligned correctly, or is it something that will take care of itself when pressed/bolted in place?
Also when bleeding the system after install, just to clarify; I bleed the slave, then finish the bleeding at the rear pass. side caliper correct?

Thanks;
Jake

The clutch is separate from the brakes in that respect. You don't need to bleed the brakes when bleeding the clutch unless you let the reservoir go empty.

The piston rod should more or less go straight in, don't let it angle down too much. Its not hard to align it correctly, as long as it hits the fork it will self align. The piston rod should contact the fork and it will require you to use a good amount of hand pressure to depress the piston enough to get the nuts onto the studs that hold the slave body. If you don't have to put any pressure on the slave body with your hand then you missed the fork with the piston rod and it will blow the seal when you try to use the clutch.

When bleeding brakes you start at the furthest away and move toward the reservoir.

Just wondering if the fork is supposed to be lose, I can wiggle mine fwd toward where the slave cylinder rod would be and there is some side way play. I replaced the slave and blow the seal and want to know if a messed up or something broke on the fork or throw bearing/ pivot deal.

The fork is fairly loose. The slave keeps it under constant pressure so it doesnt rattle.
