Oil leak ?

Hello
I have a massive oil leak on my engine (318i 1994 300000km) I clean it with brake cleaner and I find where the oil is leaking, from the corner between the engine block and the chains case or the head, back of the A/C compressor support !

What are you suggest ?

Ray

Sounds like you have already identified the problem. I would re-gasket all the whole front covers and the valve cover.

What doe you mean by by the tub?

Oh, you mean tube?

There is an O-ring on the bottom of the dip stick tube. The O-ring seals the tube to the oil pan. Normally the dip stick tube is held tightly in place by the top bracket but if that bracket is loose then the bottom of the tube can become dislodged and that will leak a lot of oil.

When you pull the dip stick tube with the engine running, the engine should continue to idle normally.

The problem could be your crankcase ventilator.

crankcase ventilator = PCV = cyclone separator
