brake pad light
My brake pad warning light is lit on my 1988 325 super eta (e30). I've read the forums on this. I found the sensors on the front drivers brake and rear passenger brake, disconnected the wires attached to it, and shorted the leads together in order to close the circuit. I did this to the front and rear sensors simultaneously, but the light stayed on. I looked for shorts in the wiring, but could not find any.
There seems to be some disagreement about resetting the warning light. Some posts say to leave the key in the on position for 1 minute, others say 10 min or more, others say there is no reset, that when the circuit is closed, the light goes out. Thanks for the help. |

I dont know on the E30 but E46 it is leave the key in ON with the engine OFF for about a minute and the light will go out. Yours is probably different.
